The Role: Provide counselling/intervention/support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people Promote the education and awareness of significant events that have impacted on the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people; Co-ordinate and support a wide range of projects/programs that enhances the SEWB of the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community; Work collaboratively with other service providers within the community. To be eligible you must have: Tertiary qualification (minimum Cert IV or Diploma or Degree) in a relevant field by a nationally accredited training institution. Demonstrated counselling skills with experience and knowledge of social, emotional and mental health issues which may include culturally appropriate healing methods and trauma and grief counselling skills. Min 2yrs counselling experience Triple vaccinated for COVID-19 vaccination A current driver’s license Must have full Australian Working Rights (i.e. Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, a valid Working Visa, or New Zealand Citizenship) Desirable: Post graduate qualifications in mental health.
